Are dried fruits healthy?

It is always going to depend on the ingredients that dried fruits contain. If we talk about natural dried fruits, we can say it is healthy. It has nearly all the nutrients from the fresh fruits without the water. Like with everything, it is important to consume it with moderation.

Can I lose weight with dried fruits?

Yes, you can. Contrary to what people think that dried fruit is very fattening due to its carbohydrate and calorie content, they are foods that when consumed in moderation can be very satiating, balance our appetite, help to displace unhealthy foods when we feel like eating something sweet by replacing them with dried fruit, and all this while we enjoy their sweet taste.

Do dried fruits contain sugar?

How do I store dried fruit?

Ideally, the products should be stored in a hermetically sealed container in a cool place out of direct sunlight. It is recommended to remove the packaging as soon as possible so that the package does not absorb the fat from the product, otherwise the product will be dry and will lose its texture and smoothness.

Why do dried fruit have more calories than fresh fruit?

when we dehydrate a fruit we remove most of its water content, leaving all the nutrients concentrated. Fresh fruit is mainly composed of water, so if we compare 100g of fresh fruit with 100g of dehydrated fruit, with fresh fruit most of its weight would be water, while dehydrated fruit would be the concentrated part of nutrients.

Can children eat dried fruits?

Dried fruit is suitable for children who are able to chew and swallow easily. It is a good option for a sweet snack to replace other unhealthy snacks that are less suitable for children. However, it is recommended to be consumed in moderation.

Can I give my dog dried fruits?

It is always best to check with your vet, as there are certain fruits that are best avoided for dogs. Their high intrinsic sugar content does not make them the best treat for dogs, but it is true that generally and very occasionally you could offer some natural dried fruit.
