Pumpkin seeds are a great source of protein, nearly a quarter of their content is amino acids and proteins, all of which are in biologically available forms. An excellent source of zinc, important for pregnant women and good wound healing. Much better than taking zinc supplements and there is no risk of taking in cadmium, which is often found in zinc supplements and is poisonous.
Poly and monounsaturated fats, including the essential omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, abound in pumpkin seeds, making up for their almost complete lack of vitamins. Great when added to bread or ground into sauces for extra texture and flavour.
